Profile:

All registered members create a profile which is viewable to both registered and non-registered site visitors. This is considered a mini-website about the Member. You can add a profile picture, fill in your “About Me” information, and add keyword tags to describe your interests so that other users or site visitors can find your profile by searching for keywords on the site. Then you can add Portfolios, add Blogs, and post Status Updates. The more content a member adds to their profile increases traffic from search engines on the web to their profile.

Contacts and Fans:

Members can add other users as a Contact (a two-way relationship- both members see each other’s posts) or as a Fan (a one-way relationship- the fan will see the member’s posts but the other member does not see the posts from the person who became their fan). Members should add as many other members as Contacts (if they want their posts to be seen by the other member) or become a Fan (if they just want to keep up with a member’s updates without the other member viewing their posts) so that they have as many opportunities to socialize within the community as possible. You will see your Contact's and Fan's Updates on your Home page.

Projects:

Now that you have a profile, you can enter projects into a portfolio. Your profile will list all of your projects so people can learn more about your past work or your current product line. You are allowed a nice header image which can be a company logo or product line photo, as well as 10 images in the gallery. These get listed in 'Latest Project Galleries' on the sidebar of every page on Interior Buzz! Get more exposure for your work and product line by entering as many projects as you wish.

Blogs:

Blogs are very important because they are publicly viewable without an account. The more blog entries you create will give you more exposure online. Your blogs are your discussions and thoughts which help define who you are and what you do. You can blog about things that inspire you in design, post new product announcements, write short articles on work in progress, and more. Blogs can be 'Buzzed' and rank up to 'Top Buzz' site-wide. Top Buzz is located on the sidebar and front page so anyone can see whats buzzing.

Sponsors with external design/ related blogs: upon approval we will import your RSS feeds. All available blog posts (including images) and any new content you add to your external blog will automatically post to your Interior Buzz blog. This will get you and your existing blog more exposure.

Status Updates:

Status updates are like mini-blog posts and are private for only your contacts and fans to see. This is the best way to tell your fans and contacts what you are currently thinking and doing. Someone must be registered and become a contact or fan of you to see your updates.

Library:

You can think of these as bookmarks. Did you find a blog post or item on Interior Buzz that you want to save for your future reference? You can add content to your Library by clicking the 'Library' icon to the right of the content post. You can view and search your library at anytime by clicking on 'My Library' from your profile menu.

Events:

Create an Event and announce your upcoming shows, sales, meetings, classes, workshops, parties, and more! Any registered member can add an event. You can browse upcoming events and if you are planning on attending an event, click 'Attend' link on the event page you are viewing. This will add the event to 'My Events' listing and will remind you on the sidebar under 'Your Upcoming Events' as the event date draws closer. ('Your Upcoming Events" are located on your Profile)

Jobs:

Anyone can post a job available. Consumers or professional companies alike. It's FREE to post jobs on Interior Buzz so list jobs available in your company or contact us about pulling your job feed into the site.

Marketplace:

This is the classifieds section. Remodeling a customer project? Do they need to sell all their old furniture or items? Post them up on the Marketplace! Anyone can browse and search through the Marketplace so you'll get tons of exposure even from unregistered members.

Buzz Cloud:

When posting content, you can keyword TAG your post. Keywords or tags are separated by commas and connect your content with keywords to help others find your information. Our tag cloud grabs a summary of all the keywords used and ranks them in size and color by how many times they are found in the site. So click any of the keywords to find the related posts connected to that topic. The larger ones will have more matches and are considered hot or trending topics in the Buzz Cloud!

Home:

Your 'Home' can be reached by clicking the Home menu link up top or the Interior Buzz icon top left. This is your starting point for your visit. Think of this as your contact/fan Updates wall. You see all the latest posts from your contacts and members you are a fan of.

You will also see the New Buzz (any content created by any Member).

When something is NEW or UPDATED you'll see a small red flag showing that. New and updated or commented on items move to the top so you'll always be able to keep up with items that are getting more attention!

Build your home view by becoming fans of other members and/or requesting to be their contact. A contact is a two way viewing relationship and a fan of someone is a one way (you see their posts if you are a fan of them). Simple, social, buzzciting!

Top Buzz:

Anytime you find a Blog post, Project Gallery, Job, Event, or Marketplace item you like, BUZZ IT! Ask your friends, fans, and contacts to Buzz YOUR blog posts, event, etc., so you can get more exposure! We rank popular items and add them to the Top Buzz list by how many times an item as been buzzed.

This is important because we expose Top Buzz on the front page of the site as well as the sidebar of each page, as well as in RSS feeds for people who like to keep up using feed readers online, and automatically on Twitter and Facebook to get you more exposure all over the web. You want your items in Top Buzz to get the most exposure on the world wide web!

Directory:

Your profile will be listed in the site-wide Directory that anyone can view when visiting Interior Buzz. It is the easiest and best way to find professionals in our industry for a new visitor, registered or not. This is a great option for a member who wants excellent exposure. Each Member is listed in the Directory by order of activity on the site.

For only $10 a month, you may upgrade to Premium Membership. As a Premium Member, you will be listed at the top of the Directory, giving you maximum exposure throughout the site regardless of activity on the site!
